Discover Autism Lives' mission of hope!

Autism Lives works with other local community-based and disability organizations to provide short—and long-term housing to adults with autism.  Specifically, we coordinate with provider organizations who serve adults with autism to help fill in the housing gap, as there is often a lack of housing options in New Jersey near organizations that are providing social services to these adults in need.  We believe our mission is critical to ensuring that adults with autism in NJ have the choice to live in settings that are owned and managed by entities that are separate from the organization from whom they are receiving support services. 

Autism Lives in an entirely volunteer-run organization, managed by our Board of Trustees, where every dollar raised goes directly back into our mission of providing housing options for adults with autism in NJ.  All activities are funded via charitable donations and government and foundation grants. By providing these housing options, we will be supporting adults with autism by allowing them to live near organizations which provide additional services needed by these individuals. 

Autism Lives also works closely with support coordination agencies, the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Supportive Housing Connection to assist individuals in understanding the process, applying for, and maintaining eligibility for state-funded housing vouchers – when applicable - to help cover their rent in Autism Lives owned properties.
